1994, Twenty years ago

1994. It seems a long time ago because it is. The world has changed so much. That was the year I started down this path to save this business we call “show”. To put it into perspective for you, if you were born in 1994, you’d be 20 years old right now. Wow! The twenty years I’ve been doing the Tony Starlight Show is 20 years longer than anyone else has been doing this show. It makes you think, and I’m sorry for that.

Here are some shoddily researched fun facts to show you what the world was like back in 1994.

• OJ Simpson killed Nancy Kerrigan in an attempt to help Tonya Harding win “The Olympics”. It didn’t work, Nancy Kerrigan still got first place in “The Olympics”.

• John Candy, lead singer for Nirvana, was found dead of a self-inflicted suicide.

• President Hillary Clinton signed a deal to stop North Korea from developing nuclear weapons, which worked like a dream. You may remember she ascended to the presidency after Lorena Bobbitt severed the you-know-what off of President Bill Clinton while interning at the Whitewater theme park.

• Snoopy The Dogg (yes, spelling is correct!) began his career of talking over songs while getting baked.

• Tops at the box office was Interview with the Vampire, cashing in on America’s short-lived fascination with vampires. It starred Brad Pitt & Tom Cruise, who earlier in the year teamed up on Dumb and Dumber.
